After years of turning Figma files into clean Astro websites. First for font foundries and typography projects, then for my own work. I’ve packaged it up as a proper service.
If you’re a designer with a solid Figma file, or a team that wants pixel perfect implementation without the usual back and forth, this is for you.
Why Figma to Astro?
Astro has quietly become my go to for building static sites that actually perform. No unnecessary JavaScript shipped to the browser, excellent Lighthouse scores out of the box, content collections that make sense, and a codebase that’s still readable six months later. For content-focused and typography-heavy sites especially, it’s hard to beat.
Figma, on the other hand, is where designers do their best thinking. The flexibility, the component model, the way it handles design tokens. It’s genuinely good tooling.
The problem has always been the gap between the two. Designs drift during implementation. Handoff notes miss details. Developers make judgment calls that don’t match the designer’s intent. Then you spend two weeks on tweaks that should have taken two days. I’ve seen this happen on projects big and small, and it’s frustrating for everyone involved.
The process I’ve built closes that gap. Fewer surprises, less back and forth, and a final result that actually looks like what was designed.
What You Get
Accurate conversion of your Figma designs into production ready Astro components and pages. Not a rough approximation, but a faithful implementation that respects your spacing, typography, and layout decisions.
The code follows Astro best practices: proper Image components for optimised delivery, minimal client-side hydration, scoped styles so nothing bleeds where it shouldn’t, and a structure your team can actually maintain. Responsive implementation is included as a matter of course, working from your breakpoints and design tokens rather than overriding them.
SEO foundations come baked in: metadata, structured data where relevant, and image optimisation set up correctly from the start. These aren’t afterthoughts bolted on at the end.
Who It’s For
Designers and studios who want their Figma work built reliably, without hiring a full time developer or managing someone in-house on a project basis. You did the design work; the implementation should honour it.
Indie makers and small teams shipping landing pages, portfolios, documentation sites, or marketing pages. Astro is an excellent fit for all of these, and getting it built right the first time is cheaper than fixing a mess later.
Anyone who values a fast, simple site over a bloated framework will feel at home with the output.
How It Works
The process is straightforward by design.
You share your Figma file, or the specific pages and frames that need building. We talk through scope, any requirements that aren’t obvious from the design, and a realistic timeline. I deliver the Astro code: clean, documented, and ready to drop into your project or repository. Then we do revisions as needed to get it exactly right.
Pricing is project based and fixed, not hourly. No ambiguity about what’s included.
